MyoVision

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is MyoVision so much faster than competitor's products?
1. MyoVision uses proprietary electronics which allow the instrument to 'settle' quicker making it quicker to get a stable reading.
2. MyoVision uses a button press instead of a foot pedal switch. Instead of searching for the foot pedal while scanning, you simply 'pop' a small button on the probe to store data. Not only is it faster, but it is much better on your back because you don't have to stand leaning on one leg.

Why do so many doctors tell me that MyoVision's button press is so much better than the foot pedal SEMG's?
As an expert on spinal biomechanics, you know that it is ergonomically unsound to use a device which requires that you lean on one leg when testing. It leads to subluxations as it is improper by nature. Obviously, a button press which requires a tiny force to actuate is much easier and allows you to concentrate on placement of the probes.

What if doing sitting tests? Does the foot pedal switch matter there?
1. When doing a sitting test, the foot pedal is fine. The problem is that you don't want to be limited to doing sitting tests only. Some patients have more difficulty standing than sitting, and therefore a standing test is preferable. MyoVision gives you the option.
2. Another big advantage with the button press is in screenings. Psychologically, it is much more of a commitment for a potential patient to sit while being screened. Standing screenings of potential patients are perceived as less threatening, and therefore more effective.
3. More people can see you testing patients while milling around if you are doing standing tests. Since you are physically more visible when standing, this is a requirement for a successful screening.
4. Finally, if a patient has a 'short leg', the S curve seen on their SEMG can only be done during a standing exam. Essentially, sitting only exams limit your scope of diagnosis tremendously.

How can MyoVision offer a 3 year warranty when all others are only one year?
1. Realistically, we can offer a five year warranty, but nobody would believe it. We have had only 4 machines breakdown in five years! As the only manufacturer selling directly to our customers, we have unsurpassed quality control. Also, our design is superior to competitors as most of the product is built by modern robots.
2. Perhaps others are not as confident in design of their product.

Who is PBI?
PBI, or Performance Biometrics, Inc., is a group of engineers, software designers and specialists in sEMG combining their resources for one simple goal: Produce the finest sEMG available! Our original design for the line of MyoVision products came from our ergonomic work with NASA pilots. We have taken the culmination of our experience to produce a high performance, clinical sEMG.

How long have we been in business?
For the last 9 years, we have been manufacturing sEMG systems for several companies. The MyoVision line is our personal product, with unique software design, enabling our customers to receive support directly from the manufacturer.

What type of service do we provide?
As the manufacturer of the MyoVision 8000, the service we provide is superior. If you're dealing with a company that doesn't have control over both the hardware and software, you may be at the mercy of a tech support department that doesn't have all the information to fix your problem!
